A Pandemic Pivot

The original plan:

Weekly live-theatre workshops for families of children with medically complex needs to Childsplay Theatre.  When the pandemic hit, we had to come up with an alternative plan!

The pivot:

Wonderbox

Working with three different children's books, our artists designed creativity kits called WonderBoxes filled with activities based on theatre arts, sparking collaborative fun between children and their families.  We sent the boxes home and stayed in touch with the families at regular intervals, in effect bringing the workshops to the families rather than the families to the workshops.  At this writing, we are in the final stages of data collection on how this theatre-inspired creative activity affects caregiver and family wellbeing.
